"END OF THE TRAIL"

Dear Lord, take this old cowboy,
He has come to the end of his trail.
You know while he was on this Earth,
He served you very well.

He don't need any mansion,
A bunk house will be all right;
He just needs a place to hang his hat
And to get some sleep at night.

But, he will need a good horse,
One that's stout and true;
And a pretty good old saddle,
Most anything will do.

And maybe there will be an arena
That's kinda close by;
He knows that he can't beat the kids,
But, he sure loves to try.

 And then maybe some days
You can maybe finds a way
To let him double hock a few,
It would really make his day.

And maybe you could find his buckle
That he lost in the mud that time;
The best one that he ever won
Back when he was in his prime.

But, the one thing that I ask, Dear Lord,
When he's before your judgment stand;
Say "Welcome home old partner,
You have always made a hand."
